From July 21-24, the 10th AKF Asian Senior Karate Championships and the 11th AKF Asian Junior & Cadet Karate Championships have been held with the participation of 17 countries and regions.
This year senior competitions and junior & cadet matches were held in the same place, so participants joined 40 categories all together.
Japan sent 61representatives including athletes, referees, officials, and coaches as they entered almost all categories except junior team kara and senior female kumite +68kg.
Japan still stayed on top of medal records – 14 golds, 7 silvers, and 10 bronzes.
Especially it was the great achievement for them that all cadet participants gained a medal.
