Munich’s bid 2018

Over 11.400 Karatekas in training for Munich’s bid 2018

130 clubs participated at the special event day of the Bavarian Karate Federation

Munich the 15th of May 2011 – The Bavarian Karate Federation (Member of the German Karate Federation part of DOSB) recorded over 11.400 participants at the special event day on the 15th of May for the application of the Olympic- and Paralympic games 2018. All over Bavaria there have been several events and training courses. Citiziens and celebrities from society, sport and politics who attended send a strong signal for Munich’s bid 2018.

The clubs organized a wide variety of events, training courses, performances, festivals, sales and promotion stalls. The clubs provided not only training sessions but also a wide variety of colourful and creative things to do. Everyone agreed about one thing: It was a successful event, which not only made the sport Karate more famous, but also promoted and gave greater coverage to the bid for the winter Olympics 2018.
